JUMPING MOUSE
A Story About Inner Trust
Mary Elizabeth Marlow

The story of JUMPING MOUSE, from the Native American tradition, is a compelling tale about the journey to acquire inner trust—the ability to trust the path of our own hearts. We travel along with Jumping Mouse as he is challenged by the stages and initiations one must face in order to trust within: paradox, ambiguity, betrayal, doubt, the leap of faith, the pull of consensus reality and the subtleties of discernment.

Juxtaposed with contemporary analogies and gentle teaching, the story guides us in our quest to learn when to, whether to and to trust. As Jumping Mouse journeys to the Sacred Mountain - the heart of his true self - and discovers that which gives his life meaning and purpose, we feel the reawakening of innocence and the birth of trust in the moment and in ourselves. And as he learns to totally trust the promptings of his heart, our spirits take flight and soar far beyond the pages of the book to the heart of our own truth.

JUNG
His Life and Work
Barbara Hannah

This full-scale study of Jung's life and work is written by a close student, friend, and associate of more than thirty years. It is a lucid, penetrating account of his career, stressing the essential wholeness of the man and tracing the difficult path that led to that wholeness. From his earliest years to his death, through the crowded inner and outer events of his long ifetime, Hannah presents a view of the real Jung, not the creature of legend and cult. She treats his theoretical apparatus as well as such personal matters as his relationship with Toni Wolff and his supposed flirtation with Nazism. Here we see Jung's humanity and his genius as a "navigator of the unconscious."

JUNG AND THE ALCHEMICAL IMAGINATION £17.99
JUNG AND THE ALCHEMICAL IMAGINATION

Jeffrey Raff

Jeffrey Raff illustrates the spiritual nature of Jungian psychology and the debt it owes to the tradition of esoteric religion. Unlike other books on Jung and alchemy which contain a psychological interpretation of alchemical material this work uses alchemy to understand the three cornerstones of Jungian spirituality: the self the transcendent function and active imagination. Through the interpretation of alchemical imagery Raff explains the nature of these three concepts and illustrates how together they form a new model of contemporary Western spirituality. The book is also unique in selecting alchemical texts for analysis that are relatively unknown and which for the most part have never been interpreted. In addition he presents two new concepts: the ally and the psychoid realm. Using these ideas and the new understanding that they offer it is possible to apply alchemical imagery to transpsychic experience; that is to a world of spirits which may not be reduced to psychological concepts. By including this realm in the study of alchemy and Jungian thought it is possible to gain insight into the nature of visionary and ecstatic experiences that form part of the path of individuation - the road to completion. With loving attention to rare alchemical texts the author poignantly expands key Jungian concepts to offer a useful and modern transformativa. - Clarissa Pinkola Estes author of Women Who Run With The Wolves

JUNG AND THE NATIVE AMERICAN MOON CYCLES
Rhythms of Influence
Michael Owen

The Moon Cycles a Native American teaching about the archetypal influences and forces that affect us at different times in our lives shows us how the rhythm of Jung's life coincided with the great events of the 20th century and offers new insights into Jung's life and death. Owen provides a fascinating perspective across some of Jung's more important dreams. He also quite unexpectedly casts new light on Jung's fateful associations with such twentieth century titans as Picasso and Freud and the controversial areas of his life such as his relationships with women and alleged anti-Semitism. We also learn how to place the events of our own lives on the Moon Cycles of the Native American Medicine Wheel gaining new perspective into the births and deaths in our lives (inner and outer) and the critical importance of the nine-month and three-year cycles. Michael Owen is a clinical psychologist and Jungian psychotherapist who has travelled widely and been apprenticed for many years with inter-tribal elders in indigenous medicine. He studied at the C.G. Jung in Zurich and was in private practice in Toronto. Michael has led retreats and workshops in Canada South Africa and Australia. He now has a private practice in New Zealand.

JUNG AND THE SHADOW OF ANTI-SEMITISM
Collected Essays
Aryeh Maidenbaum

This important work is a revised updated edition of Lingering Shadows: Jungians Freudians and Anti-Semitism which presented articles that arose from the 1989 conferences in New York and Paris where rumours of Jung's anti-Semitism were first addressed. Prominent Jungian analysts examine both the historical merits of the rumours and the psychological implications of our interest in this matter. It's a poignant and revealing look at how the Jungian community has reconciled the dichotomy of Jung-the-genius with Jung-the-person living in the society of his time. New material includes articles on Jung Kabbalah and Judaism; Jung Anti-Semitism and the Weimar Years; and an updated chronology and bibliographic essay. The editor also presents never-before-published material from interviews with some of Jung's closest colleagues: C.A. Meier Siegmund Hurwitz and Aniela Jaffe. Other contributors to this anthology include Adolf Guggenbuhl-Craig Werner Engel and Ann Belford Ulanov. The Editor Aryeh Maidenbaum obtained his Ph.D. in history from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He is known not only for his research and knowledge of the subject but also for bringing the question of anti-Semitism to the forefront of the Jungian community. He is a Jungian analyst and director of the New York Center for Jungian Studies.

JUNG FOR BEGINNERS

Jon Platania Illustrated by Joe Lee

Carl Gustav Jung merged Eastern mysticism with Western psychology, brought scientific respectability to religion, laid the foundation for 'the New Age,' and is second only to Freud in influence and importance in the world of psychoanalysis. Many consider him a genius, but many others disagree.

Scholar and clinical psychologist Jon Platania, PhD, presents Jung as a somewhat opportunistic and dissociated character whose most famous historical events were his break with Freud and his questionable sojourn with the psychological elite of the German Third Reich. On the other side of Jung's complex genius, there is a deeply spiritual man who laid the groundwork for a more optimistic approach to our modern understanding of the human psyche in both theology and psychology. He is remembered by many as the Swiss Doctor of the Soul.

Dr. Platania then takes us on a tour of the work that made Jung one of the pillars of modern psychology. And what a body of work it is. Jung's open-mindedness was astonishing. Wherever he went—Calcutta, Egypt, Palestine, Kenya—Jung learned something that expanded his views. His open-ended psychology incorporated Yoga, meditation, prayer, alchemy, mythology, astrology, numerology, the I Ching—even flying saucers! He taught us that psychology and religion can not only coexist peacefully together, but that they can enhance us, inspire us, and help us complete ourselves.

Freud, for all of his brilliance, reduced us to little more than vessels of hormones with high IQs. Jung, for all of his flaws, gave us back our souls.

JUNGIAN SYMBOLIC PSYCHOLOGY £21.00
JUNGIAN SYMBOLIC PSYCHOLOGY

Carlos Amadeu Botelho Byington

In JUNGIAN SYMBOLIC PSYCHOLOGY the concept of symbol is extended to encompass the entire individual and collective psyche. Structuring symbols, complexes and functions are expressed as polarities that include both the subjective and objective worlds. Consciousness is described as the interaction of five archetypal forms of intelligence. Among them, Byington introduces alterity, in which the anima and animus archetypes relate dialectically, making it the archetype of democracy, of scientific and artistic creativity and of love.
Through this dialectic of opposites, analytical psychology and psychoanalysis are analysed as complementary approaches and used to explicate shadow formation through fixation and defenses. In this manner, ethics can be studied psychodynamically and the shadow can be equated with sin and evil within the individuation process. Through this ample symbolic perspective, the psyche is conceived as being (following Heidegger), with its three main polarities - mind-body, mind-nature and mind-emotions - expressed through symbols. The matriarchal and patriarchal archetypes, along with the alterity and totality archetypes, form the ruling archetypal quaternio, which is the basis of symbolic elaboration to form the ego and consciousness.
Parallel to Jung’s individuation process, Byington has conceived the cultural Self and the humanisation process based on Teilhard de Chardin to describe an archetypal theory of history. This theory includes the activation of the alterity archetype, whose mythological root is expressed through the myth of Christ in the West and the myth of Buddha in the East. JUNGIAN SYMBOLIC PSYCHOLOGY concludes with an interpretation of the Oedipus myth based on the dialectical relationship between analytical psychology and psychoanalysis.

JUNGS CIRCLE OF WOMEN
The Valkyries
Maggy Anthony

C.G. Jung who accomplished nothing short of a revolution in analytical psychology made a unique impact both directly and indirectly on a very large number of people. At a time when some still believed that women did not have souls Jung took women seriously and felt that it was important that they have their own work. From the very beginnings of his private practice Jung had a disproportionately large number of women patients. The women came from all over the world to be healed and many remained as analysts colleagues or helpers of one sort or another. These are the women who had the courage to explore both the need for a spiritual link with a man like Jung and their own deepest feminine roots and who became known as the Valkyries. From Jung's mother Emilie Preiswerk Jung to his wife Emma Jung from the early days in Zurich to a consideration of the Valkyries themselves in their own work Maggy Anthony presents a lucid and highly readable analysis of this group of women who were not only influenced by Jung but who proved to have a crucial influence on him. Anthony respectfully shares their stories with modern readers who want to understand Jung and the impact his ideas had while he was learning - and living - his work.

JUNGS STRUGGLE WITH FREUD
A Metabiological Study
George B Hogenson

As Hogenson writes in chapter 1: Jung's memory of the ocean passage (from Jung's memoirs recording a voyage to America with Freud) focuses our attention on the central problem of this essay: What does it mean to lay claim to personal authority in a world where biography and autobiography have become thematic for an entire cultural discourse? How are we to comprehend authority in psychoanalysis? So begins his exploration into the relationship between Carl Gustav Jung and Sigmund Freud a broken friendship that profoundly affected twentieth-century thought.

JUNGS THOUGHTS ON GOD
Religious Depths of the Psyche
Donald Dyer

C.G. Jung has been called an atheist a modern Gnostic/heretical theologian and a critical philosopher. He viewed himself as an empirical psychologist but he was born to a Christian minister's family and raised in close proximity to the church. His childhood memories were of his early perceptions of God. One of the more appealing aspects of C.G. Jung's work is his exploration of the religious instinct - the images that rise up from the depths of the psyche - that part of our nature that is independent from the conscious mind. Jung does not argue the existence of God but examines the God-image in our religious texts. While other psychologists of his time were concerned with behaviour and having their clients fit into society Jung was interested in helping people recognize the spiritual journey to wholeness. An increasing number of psychologists today are acknowledging the relevance of spirituality for psychological health and for them and others who are interested in C.G. Jung's concepts this book is an important resource. Dyer has organized hundreds of Jung's references to God so that readers can have ready access to Jung's thoughts regarding the existence of God the essence of God the God personality acts of God our personal relationship with God and God and the Psyche. He also includes a chronology of Jung's writings on God. Donald Dyer is not a Jungian analyst but a layman who has been fascinated by Jung's work for over twenty years. In this book he shares his joy and fascination in discovering the parallels between Jung's ideas and experiences of God and his own affirming the connection we all have with each other in our search for the spiritual within.

KABBALAH AND THE POWER OF DREAMING £12.99
KABBALAH AND THE POWER OF DREAMING
Awakening the Visionary Life
Catherine Shainberg

In KABBALAH AND THE POWER OF DREAMING Catherine Shainberg unveils the esoteric practices that allow us to unlock the dreaming mind's transformative and intuitive powers. These are the practices used by ancient prophets seers and sages to control dreams and visions. Shainberg draws upon the ancient Sephardic Kabbalah tradition as well as illustrative stories and myths from around the Mediterranean to teach readers how to harness the intuitive power of their dreaming. While the Hebrew Bible and our Western esoteric tradition give us ample evidence of dream teachings rarely has the path to becoming a conscious dreamer been articulated. Shainberg shows that dreaming is not something that merely takes place while sleeping - we are dreaming at every moment. By teaching the conscious mind to be awake in our sleeping dreams and the dreaming mind to be manifest in daytime awareness we are able to achieve revolutionary consciousness. Her inner-vision exercises initiate creative and transformative images that generate the pathways to self-realisation.
