STARGATE CHRONICLES HB Memoirs of a Psychic Spy Joseph McMoneagle
I've been accused of a lot of things in my life but ducking an issue isn't one of them. I entered the Army in 1964 when it wasn't a popular thing to do. I did 20 years' service to my country as an Intelligence NCO and Officer spent more than 12 continuous years overseas in some places most people wouldn't have volunteered to be in doing things most wouldn't do. I did this at a time when many of my own countrymen people I defended and supported disliked what I was doing. When I was first exposed to the possibility of remote viewing as an intelligence threat I took it very seriously because the evidence already extant 23 years ago was significantly compelling to demand attention. I have now spent 23 years of my life carefully studying remote viewing within research laboratories and applying it in hundreds of intelligence collection circumstances. I have visited other countries and met with remote viewers who are participants in both research and applications in both civilian and military labs. And whether you want to call it paranormal or not I'm more convinced than ever that there is something going on that we should be very concerned about. It is an inescapable fact that terrorist activities and the efforts of terrorists across the world have more than tripled in a little less than two decades. I've been dealing with it for 28 years and it's only getting worse. I find it silly and irrelevant stupid and ignorant to continue to ignore a proven intelligence capability that might be used in our defence.'

STILL STANDING Addicts Talk About Living Sober Bucky Sinister
From the book: Living sober is against instinct. We’ve learned to live drunk, high, and wasted. The way you act in a crack house is not the way you act at the DMV… What we’ve learned in order to protect ourselves, our possessions, and our stash is not helpful to the rest of our lives; actually, acting these ways will ruin our lives.
Stories heal, and Bucky Sinister, sober since February 19th, 2002, and a veteran of the punk rock and spoken word scene, brings the stories from the trenches about how to get sober, stay sober, and live sober. Still Standing is about the stories that heal you, and the hard times that don’t kill you.
Sinister goes beyond the 12-steps with stories from the misfits, freaks, and weirdos that have come to recovery from a variety of backgrounds--tattoo artists, bartenders, musicians to help answer the What Now? question of living sober. Topics include: 10 Things Every New Recovering Addict Should Have; Prayer and the Atheist; Job Interviews; and Ways Addicts Can Be of Service to Normies.

STORIES OF BELONGING Finding Where Your True Self Lives Kali Wendorf
For many of us, finding a community or a place where we feel we belong is at the heart of our lives. Unexpected events, through choice or circumstance, can move us away from our roots. We leave our hometowns, we are torn from what we love, we build new lives in foreign countries. And through it all, whether we acknowledge it or not, we are searching for the feeling of 'belonging' that nourishes our souls.
In this collection of beautifully written stories, fifteen writers from Australia and around the world reveal their own search to find where they belong. Experiences range from riding the rapids of the Grand Canyon, to living in a remote village of Tibet, to being confronted with sadness and loss, to being a member of the Stolen Generation.
STORIES WE NEED TO KNOW How to Read Your Life Path Through Literature Allan G. Hunter
A combination of therapy and expertise in literature, this book explains the six archetypes derived from 4,000 years of literature and how they may guide unhappy people seeking meaning in their lives. Holding up the great books as the best way to understand these timeless story elements, the discussion devotes a chapter to each of the six archetypes: the innocent, the orphan, the pilgrim, the warrior-lover, the monarch pair and the magician. Story structures are shown to be particularly suited to therapy with adolescents, many of whom have never stepped away from television and the shopping centres long enough to understand their unmet spiritual needs.
This book is special because it offers a genuine, reliable guide to help us make sense of the demands of spiritual growth. The Archetypes it describes were widely used as meaningful guideposts until the modern era and the Industrial Revolution helped to wipe out their credibility. Just as the rise of religion caused the demise of magic (and with it many of our folkways, most healing modalities and the rituals of psychic healing) so the advent of mass culture reduced literature to the level of entertainment.

STRING AND A PRAYER How to Make and Use Prayer Beads Eleanor Wiley and Maggie Oman Shannon
Eleanor Wiley and Maggie Oman Shannon have taken an ancient practice and made it new. A String and a Prayer recounts the history and symbolism of prayer beads, teaches basic techniques for stringing beads and a host of other objects into prayer beads, and offers a variety of prayers and rituals to use those beads on a daily basis.
Beads have appeared throughout history. Prayer beads are used in the spiritual practices of cultures as diverse as the African Masai, Native Americans, Greek and Russian Orthodoxy, as well as the religious rituals of Islam, Hinduism, Christianity, and Buddhism. But prayer is highly personal. By infusing prayer beads with personal associations, we can keep our spirituality fresh. The beads are a device to help build and rebuild meaningful ritual in our lives.
With myriad ideas about what makes objects sacred and where to find sacred objects -- from the personal, perhaps beads from a grandmother's broken rosary, to the unusual, maybe seashells from far away found in a thrift store -- A String and a Prayer offers many suggestions for different ways that beads can be made and used, exploring the creative roles they can play in our relationships, ceremonies, and rituals. "You are the expert, trust yourself. Let the instructions be a guide to your own creativity," write the authors.
