One of the first books on the Order of Melchizedek and what it believes.
Melchizedek was a high priest in the Old Testament. The current Order of Melchizedek believes that there is one God, understood and worshipped in a variety of different ways throughout history. They, also, believe that each form of worship and understanding serves a purpose suited to the people who choose it for their own path of enlightenment. Each form, also, contributes to a greater understanding of God and our spiritual nature in its own unique way and they honour all forms of faith, spirituality and religion.
The order believes that God, Christ and the hierarchy of Light has continuously interacted and communicated with humankind, helping and supporting the Earth throughout history. This interaction includes many physical incarnations on the Earth in the form of Avatars, Masters, spiritual teachers and leaders. They believe that “The Christ” is a direct emanation of God that has the overall responsibility for the spiritual evolvement and well-being of the Earth and many other physical and non-physical realms throughout Creation. Some people think of this as the Cosmic Christ or the Christ Consciousness. To the order, there is no separation and they believe we are all aspects of the Christ. They claim that the Christ is a very vast Being, but at the same time can relate to people one on one through His innate connection with every person on the Earth and His ability to represent Himself to us in a way that we can understand and accept as humans. Note: Christ is neither male nor female, but we have used the masculine form instead of using Him/Her/It, which is cumbersome and not completely accurate either.
